West China Tea & The Healing Nature of Tea Culture

I had the good fortune of being introduced to the Austin based West China Teahouse around 2018.

Founded by So-Han Fan in 2012, WCT’s mission is to build “community worldwide through tea culture.”

WCT offers so many ways for community healing. Some of my favorites include:

  • Community events that support positive mental health and wellness

  • Mindfulness through tea culture

  • Support for the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community

In one of my visits to WCT, So-Han guided us to tune in and connect with the energy of the tea leaves…

I was able to see images of natural landscapes and shared these images with So-Han.

So-Han verified that it is common for people to start to see visions of the natural landscape on which the tea was cultivated, once they connect with the energy of the tea.

My eyes were opened to the many ways that the practice of drinking tea can help us connect with ourselves, with others and with nature.

Listen in to my interview with So-Han to learn more about WCT and their farm to tea approach to building a global community.
