Healing with Horses part I

❤️As an energy healer it's important to do my own inner work so I can bring my best to those I serve. I use myself as a model with the hope that others may be inspired to engage in their own healing journey. This is part of my series on my engagement in equine therapy to heal from sexual trauma.

❤️I chose to work with horses because of their energetic sensitivity, I have since learned I have more in common with them than I first thought.

❤️Today I met a mustang horse named Jewel, who was the inspiration for the The Wild Hope Austin project, which is an emerging equine therapy center dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault/trafficking/trauma heal.

❤️"Jewel’s story of survival, capture in the wild, captivity, branding, adoption, and perseverance resonates deeply with survivors of human trafficking."

❤️Her story definitely resonates with me. I was struck by how she connected with me right away, like she could see a part of me that I have kept hidden.

❤️For those of us who have experienced relational trauma (harm in relationship with other people), being able to trust and open up to others is extremely difficult. Thank you Jewel for helping me learn to trust you, and thank you to my therapist Lara Long Counseling for your ongoing support!
